Founder & Principal – Terrapy SG

Tham Xin Kai is the Founder and Principal of Terrapy SG, an enterprise for good that promotes a holistic approach in addressing issues of health and wellness through nature-based interventions using therapeutic garden design and therapeutic horticulture. With a background in Landscape Architecture, Xin Kai has an interest in the research and design of landscapes that exhibits the therapeutic effects of natural elements. His experiences in the design and development of therapeutic gardens began during his tenure at the National Parks Board (NParks), and he has since designed and built various therapeutic gardens in parks, schools, healthcare and senior care facilities. Xin Kai also written books and articles related to therapeutic garden design, including the Design Guidelines for Therapeutic Gardens in Singapore. Believing in contributing back through education, he also teaches part time at UAS-NAFA’s first batch of the B.A. in Biophillic Design, as well as other courses at Ngee Ann Polytechnic, Singapore Polytechnic and NParks Centre for Urban Greenery and Ecology.
