Claudia Nam

Director – DP Design

Claudia is a design strategist specialising in placemaking with a background in architecture, interior design, urban art and masterplanning. She has a broad portfolio of diverse project typologies, with success in both local and international competitions.

Her inter-disciplinary design journey has evolved together with the increasing “multi-ness” – multicultural, multiplatform and multigenerational, etc. – adopted in so many aspects of our evolving world. The increased blurring and blending of boundaries have not only eroded norms but also created greater mutability across socio-cultural identities as well as socio-economic roles and structures.

Claudia values the importance of collaboration between the growing network of diverse global industry specialists and stakeholders. She was an invited speaker at the IFES World Summit 2023 – Expanding Horizons, presenting on “The Value of Design in Creating Transformative Experiences”. She shared a designer’s insights on exhibitions and events in the broader context of crafting experiences and placemaking, to build vibrant and resilient communities through design.

Personally, she has benefitted from early and continued exposure to a richness of cultures which has instilled a diverse and varied view of the world and the ever-evolving built environment. Now based in Singapore, she has lived in Buenos Aires, Sydney, Seoul and Shanghai.
