Be a part of an entry in the Singapore book of Records and create memories that would last a lifetime with your family and friends. Contribute towards Singapore’s Largest Indigo Batik Patchwork with SIDFest 2022.
Indigo dye is the oldest dye known to mankind and is commonly used in denim jeans today. The dye we have selected is eco-friendly, and raises awareness about the harmful side effects of the dyeing process.
Your unique batik design will be made from eco-friendly dyes applied on recycled cloth sourced from old linen and bedsheets from our hotel partner (Conrad Centennial Singapore) so that you know you will be doing your part towards a more sustainable future.
Create your batik patchwork in 4 simple steps
- Pencil your designs on a recycled white linen
- Apply your design with a traditional tool, tjanting.
- The cloth will then be immersed into a vat filled with indigo dye.
- After drying the cloth, your patch will then be stitched together with other patches into a larger patchwork as part of Singapore Book of Records entry.
Let’s do it together.
